Bart Simpson
Bart Simpson is an award-winning filmmaker, interested in films that entertain, evoke and engage public debate. He produced and was 2nd unit director on the feature documentary, THE CORPORATION - winner at over 25 festivals including Sundance, TIFF, IDFA, and worldwide theatrical distribution. Other films and collaborations include MOEBIUS REDUX: A LIFE IN PICTURES, about acclaimed artist Jean “Moebius” Giraud, which won Best Documentary and Best Film at Comic Con International and was broadcast on ZDF-ARTE, BBC, Bravo!, Canal D (among others); andBANANAS! - detailing the landmark court case where Nicaraguan banana workers fought fruit company Dole over decades of alleged chemical harms. The film drew Dole’s attention and they sued the filmmaking team - resulting in another film, BIG BOYS GONE BANANAS! which played at Sundance and IDFA, and screened worldwide. Following this,Bart would go on to direct the feature documentary BRASILIA: LIFE AFTER DESIGN, which includes one of the final interview appearances by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer. The film would go on to premiere at Sheffield DocFest and would screen internationally. Bart is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada.
